I\u2019m getting \u00a0the hang of strolling down the city with my gymbag 3 times a week and every Saturday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/cardiopowerlifting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@wimwam\u2019s<\/a> place. Long days, medium sleep, and enough to eat. This week I\u2019ve noticed that there are some things that drain me. Preparation and consistency do lead to succes when applied in the right way. It\u2019s time to dust off some of these skills I possess in that department<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Lately \u2019m keeping myself on track by;<br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00d8<span style=\"font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'; margin: 0px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">going to bed on time<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00d8<span style=\"font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'; margin: 0px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">reduce the use of my\u00a0 telephone (especially before bedtime)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00d8<span style=\"font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'; margin: 0px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">packing my gymbag the day before<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00d8<span style=\"font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'; margin: 0px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">making sure I have enough food in the fridge <\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Segoe UI Emoji',sans-serif;\">?<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00d8<span style=\"font: 7pt 'Times New Roman'; margin: 0px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal;\">\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">pick out my clothes the day before (that\u2019s how I get so color coordinated)<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1804 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated-169x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated-169x300.png 169w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated-768x1365.png 768w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated-576x1024.png 576w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated-1200x2133.png 1200w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/color-coordinated.png 1440w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 169px) 100vw, 169px\" \/><\/span><\/span>I\u2019ve noticed that sticking to these basic and simple things makes my life much easier. It saves me a lot of time and energy that I can use for other things. But what does this have to do with powerlifting you may ask? Well for me it means a lot. If I am slacking on some basic things it eventualy costs me energy I could have used on my performance in the gym; every set and rep. And powerlifting al so consists out of routines. I don\u2019t even know how many squats, bench presses and deadlifts I\u2019ve done these past 2 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: Calibri;\">Slacking is a forbidden word when it comes down to working out with coach Wim. He warned me at the beginning of the training that I would get to know him even more if I thought light about the (light) training. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1805 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/no-pain-no-gain-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"233\" height=\"310\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/no-pain-no-gain-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/no-pain-no-gain-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/wimwam.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/03\/no-pain-no-gain.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 233px) 100vw, 233px\" \/>\u00a0If I get busted on doing so I\u2019d be in for a surprise And I don\u2019t like surprises so I rather be on my A game. And if <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/ilyscious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@ilyscious<\/a> does so I need to make sure I don\u2019t follow her lead <\/span><span style=\"margin: 0px; font-family: 'Segoe UI Emoji',sans-serif;\">?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">Last central training went as planned. I\u2019m gettin<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">g used to wearing my suit backwards more\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">and more. I\u2019m excited for benchpress every training in a good way. And squats are improving too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Calibri;\">I can say I\u2019m on track for now and aiming to keep doing so.
