Although it was a light training session…. not whahaha Iris improved herself again. Technique is improving. Also the will to improve herself.
During the training she meet herself and it all about taking the time for yourself and you can feel this to listen to your breathing 😉 And yes she didn’t like me at all during the training…

3rd jogging cycle this week
so the first steps have been taken. Today I made only one stop towards my turning point. Hopefully the next time I can make it without a stop. Average was also higher. #thereisnofinishline 😉
This afternoon Iris will come over for a trainingsession. It will be my goal to make that session she will never forget 😉 Awesome to be part of someone’s journey 🙂
2nd step is made….
Today I made my 2nd step. Stiff legs and tight hamstring ?
I jogged the same distance and made less walk sessions in between. Something went wrong with the Strava App, during the ‘run’ I push the finish bottom, although There Is No Finish Line ……

What can I say: puf puf puf …. First steps are taken
Today I made my first steps to improve my personal health. Just started with a small walk (jogging) And my upper legs feels sore (myalgia) already ? What will be bring the coming two days.
My idea is first to bring down my bodyweight (I think it is now approx. 125kg) to 110kg. This will help me to improve my personal health (read condition). When I realize this goal I hope I have the energy to add one or two other sports. Maybe I got the energy for some light weight training.
Coming Friday I will help Iris (aka Maybe / Batman) with here training towards the Western European Powerlifting Championships. In the first weekend of September Ricky and Claudia will come over to train at WimWam Gym 🙂 Looking forward to these training sessions ?
No training the coming time :-)
The last two weeks I didn’t posted any update. I did not train for the last 2 weeks and for the coming time I will not train at all. At this stage I take a step back from powerlifting because I believe this helps me to accept that my powerlifting career has come to an end. This is better for my brain / mind and this gives me energy to focus on other things 🙂 When I started my training, I will start up my blog again 😉

Lack of motivation stays and it is okay (told Judith my last night, thank you) As long as I don’t have a (new) goal I continue this way of training…. No hurry and take the time.

Training 20-6-2017 squats, deadlifts and bench presses…..
Normally during this time of year I’m training for the European Masters in July and I have than totally focus on my training. Now I’m not training for any up coming meet, it is hard to focus on my training. When you competiting for over 30 years, my goal(s) to train are set during the year. And at this stage I really don’t know…… 😀 Strange feeling….. See what it will bring in the future 🙂 So today I had an earlier low weight training (again). The temperature in the Netherlands are good (hot), so earlier work-outs are better to do than in the afternoon and/or evening in my opinion……

Light assistance work due summer weather
In the Netherlands it is summer time ? therefore I did some light assistance work today. Tomorrow morning I will do some squats, deadlifts and bench presses when the temperature is not that high yet ?

Training session together with Harry Seriese
Today I had a very nice trainingsession with Harry Seriese. Harry start his training up for the up coming SBD cup. Harry started a trainingsprogram by Jordi Snijders (Strength Academy) Click here for more information about trainingsprograms, workshops by Strength Academy.
Harry came over because he got some technical problems. Today he made the first step forward 😀 In his final set he squatted all his 8!!!!! reps on the right depth 🙂 Welldone Harry. Also his bench press went very solid and during the deadlift his energy was gone…….. I think he made at least 20 sets with squats 😆 Nice to give some contribution in improving somebody’s technique. Training 14-6-2017 continue light weight training……
The last days I skipped my trainingsessions, just to give myself the space to accept the decissions I made about powerlifting and other things 😉 Although it was hard the decission(s) give me space and rest 🙂 At my powerliftingwebsite www.wimwam.nl aka www.powerlifting.info you can read I stopped updating the site. The last time it costed me too much energy instead it gave me energy. It wasn’t easy because it did it for 20 years. Maybe somebody will contact me and will continue updating the website. You never know 😉 Also I wrote a letter to the hosipal and this gave/gives me also some rest. Step by step I changing my strategies, considering my recovery. At this stage I like to give powerlifting workshops (about the technique – and/or mental aspects)
Last weekend Saturday I was in the opportunity to help Iris and Ilrish at their site when they pulled a big performance at the deadlift 200kg & 210kg (see previous post, under news, to watch the videos)
On Sunday I was coaching Ricky Bakker and help him to get 9 out of 9. Watch here the video of his final pull to hit the 3rd place, click here!
Also I coached Wesley Ortega and hit also 9 out of 9, with a total of 700kg and 1st place. Watch here the video of his meet and a easy pull with 307,5kg, click here! Great feeling when you can have a small contribution so somebody can perform (better than he/she expected).
It is nice that some athletes contacted me if I can help them out to improve their technique. Harry Seriese will come over coming Friday. Also Laura Kasius and Claudia Oudijk contacted me, so they will come over to the WimWamGym in the near future 🙂
Iris and Ilrish will training more often at my homegym and this gave me energy. In small groups working on technique- and mental aspects.
Becoming strong(er) you have to train, make your sets and to make the difference your technique and mental condition adding the surplus (in my opinion).
This means for my self I continue training light weights the coming time, so I don’t have to make any decission about my personal powerlifitng future at this stage.
